I have a woods behind my studio where everything grows here in Virginia!

I live on the East coast but travel to California often. With family in both Southern California and Northern California, I wander all over the state. California offers a broader range of colors than our Virginia green.  However, Virginia is lovely, as well as each surrounding state. I don't think I have met a state I didn't want to paint!

The National Parks, as you know, are our "best idea," and for a landscape painter, they offer an endless supply of subjects to inspire our creativity. No two moments are the same; the light, the day, the season, and the hour bring color and form ever-changing. However, the artist must distill these elements and add our emotions to share these landscapes.

An oil painting is a great investment in a memorable event, an event of nature, location or an idea.

These examples are paintings created for a purpose. Please contact me by email with your questions. [email protected]
