Alexia Scott is a painter and naturalist living in Falls Church, Virginia. The beautiful landscapes and complex natural gardens are my favorite subjects, all the way West from my studio to California!

I have been a professional artist, educator, and writer for over 35 years in the DC area, but I paint all across the United States. I began my artistic life as an illustrator studying design and drawing. However, I found I preferred fine arts along this path and graduated from The George Washington University with an MFA in painting in 1994. I paint "en Plein air" and in the studio where I can work large. I think of my work as "America slightly abstracted. "While I am painting in the studio, I hear Wolf Kahn (a visiting Prof. while at GW) state, "you shouldn't expose the public to things they already know."
