Octopus, National Zoo

I did several paintings for the Invertebrate Department at the National Zoo. On Thursday's when school was in session I sat and drew this large and fascinating creature. He looked at me and I at him and we communicated on an interesting level. The students enjoyed seeing how I saw him. Occasionally he would escape from the tank and the keepers had to track him down. Painting there was a unique experience.
