Little Lambs Room Mural

Painting is always an adventure. Decisions need to be made; nothing is ever straight forward, "paint it as you see it". Then there are those paintings that are not there for you to study. You want your own version of a thought, memory, or happening. However, I did study. I wanted to see how other artists painted "Christ as the Good Shepherd". This is a project for the Little Lambs Room at our church. We needed some visuals - these little ones can't read and the room has no windows. This is a great responsibility; the painting needed to make everyone smile while standing in the room. The colors should be warm, the saturation pure, the contrast minimal and the definition descriptive but not tight.
